Privacy notice: the founding list
This covers the join questions on these pages. They add you to the CrissCross Local Market pilot list; confirming your email opens your CrissCross account, or signs you in to the one you have.
What the questions store
- The ways you're joining (for example maker, farm, neighbor or organization).
- Your town and state (or the community you chose).
- Your name, your Shop, market or organization name if you gave one, and your email.
- What you make or sell, how you sell today, how you heard about us and any partner or invitation code.
- If you answer them: the kind of organization, your role, what would help and its size; or how often your market runs, roughly how many vendors, and which markets you sell at. These are kept as a short note with your entry.
- That you agreed to be emailed about the pilot, the version of that wording and when you agreed.
- When you first joined, when you last sent the questions and how many times, and the follow-up status we note (for example “contacted”).
- We send an email to confirm your address, through our email provider (Resend). It carries your confirmation link and a link that unsubscribes you and deletes your entry. An address that hasn't confirmed gets at most one such email a day and three in all.
- We keep whether you confirmed and when. Entries that aren't confirmed within 7 days of first joining are deleted.
- If you use the removal link before confirming, we keep only your email address, so that nothing more is stored or sent to it.
- When you confirm, we open a CrissCross account for your email address if you don't have one (it has no password until you choose one) and link your entry to it, so your answers are there when you start setting up. If you already have an account, we don't change it; you sign in as usual.
What it does not store
- No phone number, home address, location, device or browser details.
- To stop abuse, the server counts entries by a scrambled code made from your internet address and the day. The code can't be turned back into the address, is kept apart from your entry and is deleted after about two days.
- These pages set no tracking or advertising cookies and load no analytics or advertising scripts. If you send the questions without JavaScript, one short-lived cookie (15 minutes) carries your answer to the next page.
- While you answer, your answers are kept in this browser tab (session storage) so Back and reloading keep them. Nothing leaves your device until you send; they are cleared when you send and disappear when you close the tab.
Why, and who sees it
- Only to talk with you about the CrissCross pilot in your town.
- Only the CrissCross operators can read the list. We don't sell it, share it or message your customers.
How long, and how to remove it
- We keep your entry until the pilot list is no longer needed, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Your confirmation email (or, when no email is sent, the screen after you join) has a removal link that deletes your entry. If you lost it, write to privacy@crisscross.com or reply to any email from us, and we'll delete it.
- Questions about your information: privacy@crisscross.com. Help with your Shop or account: support@crisscross.com. Chambers and other organizations: partners@crisscross.com.
- If you asked us not to contact you, we keep only your email, the ways you joined and that request, so we can honor it.
